Outside Technical Salesperson (OTS)
Candidate shall be self-motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, have robust interpersonal skills, exhibit strong organization skills, be detail oriented and proficiently multitask while performing the following responsibilities:
- Increase sales opportunities for our Principals’ by promoting their products and/or services.
- Respond to technical, commercial, and sales questions and customer requests in a timely manner.
- Prepare and give product and services sales presentations to customers.
- Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organizing sales calls.
- Readiness to travel to customer facilities, principal’s manufacturing facilities, and conferences / trade shows.
- Prepare sales reports and account plans by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing your in-depth understanding of the customer and their needs.
- Develop short-term and long-term sales strategies based on customer feedback and requirements.
- Support principal’s work processes, sales tools, and participate in Principal sales meetings.
- Enhance technical sales knowledge by attending Principal-sponsored product seminars/webinars, reviewing technical publications, and attending other company-related training activities.
- Provide training to other employees regarding technical and sales aspects of the Principal’s products and services.
- Work with other members of the sales teams, including inside sales, to support Principal and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree with 12 years of commensurate experience in a Power related industry (Utility, Generation, Industrial, Consulting, etc.) or a Bachelor Degree with 8 years of commensurate experience in a Power related industry. Must be proficient with Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, TEAMS, and Access a plus). The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous history of:
- Strong writing, proofreading, documentation, listening and communication skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Work within the guidelines of a process AND contribute to process improvements.
- Work within and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrating accountability and dependability.
- Time management and prioritization skills are a necessity.
- Take directions and ask questions, as needed.

Details:
- Full-time, salary (40hrs/week)
- Preferred work location: Various (within RSI-Sales territory)
- Travel Requirements: 50% local, periodic domestic and occasional international
- Compensation: Market value “plus” (qualification and merit based), paid vacation/sick and 401K w/match.
